Ok, ok so this proud 1991 photo of PhotoPOSTOS’ Founder, Marlise Senzamici, is a little goofy but it was, in fact, the spark that inspired her self-adhesive postcard concept and company, PhotoPOSTOS.
After a month-long class on the art of fly-tying and how to master self-sufficiency on a stream, class members were handed a list of supplies to bring on our first fly-fishing trip up to the Lower Owens, just south of Mammoth Lakes, CA. Wide-brimmed hat, check!; large Polaroid sunglasses, check!; wading boots—none my size so high-top sneaks had to do…got ’em along with all the gear I would need to hold my own on a stream—check, check, check, check! After a few good belly laughs from my fellow fishermen, one offered to take a photo of this memorable moment, and the rest is history. Sending this photo to family and friends in NY to keep them up to date on my latest activity required something inexpensive yet effective. Greeting cards and letter-rate postage were too expensive and PhotoPOSTOS was born.
